Mehmet Demir, Dr

Research Fellow at University of Birmingham

Mehmet Demir is currently a research fellow in the Department of Education and Social Justice at the University of Birmingham. He holds a PhD in Curriculum and Pedagogy from the University of Pittsburgh, a first-class honours master’s degree and a primary teaching degree from esteemed Turkish universities. He is also a certified Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in the UK. His research expertise is in social media, virtual learning and artificial intelligence. During his PhD studies in the US, he worked on many projects involving data collection, analysis and reporting. As a result of his contributions to the University of Pittsburgh’s Collaborative for Evaluation and Assessment Capacity (CEAC) research projects, he was offered a job as a research assistant and subsequently worked as a researcher. In addition, Dr Demir served as a research assistant and lecturer at Adiyaman University. In the past, he worked as a headteacher and assistant headteacher for two years and taught for five years in reputable primary schools.
