Claire Ashworth, Mrs

Principal Lecturer (Interim) at University of Central Lancashire

My philosophy in life is simple. Be curious! Be bold! Be you! Energised by the human spirit, my mission is to create barrier free learning opportunities through experimentation and deconstruction of the normal. I champion the courage to try something new each day.

I am a self-confessed fanatic of live theatre and learning through play. I look to creative arts to build resilience, develop strategies, and illuminate self-identity through alternative, appreciative approaches in the world of business.

My research interests involve PLAY, PURPOSE FUN and ACCESSIBILITY

Areas of interest include; learning through purposeful play, disability including equality, diversity and inclusion, workplace coaching, organisation behaviour, leadership, organisation development and creative workspaces.

I am undertaking a Doctorate in Education (EdD) – my thesis explores how we could adapt Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Systems Theory to improve the lived-experiences of postgraduate research students.
