‘What next for Teacher Education’?

As we welcome a new Government, the future of teacher education will no doubt once again be a point of contention. Please do join us at this event which aims to identify the challenges and some of the solutions early in the new parliament.

Building on last year’s report of the BERA-RSA Inquiry – Research and the Teaching Profession: Building the Capacity for a Self-Improving Education System and in the light of the Carter Review in England, as well as reviews in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, we are asking what a new policy framework for ITE and CPD should look like and how politicians, educators and practitioners can respond.

Taking place at the House of Lords and hosted by Lord Puttnam, this event will be a 90 minute discussion held at 11.00am on Thursday 11th June.

Speakers include Sir Graham Donaldson, Christine Blower (NUT), Sir Alasdair MacDonald, Prof. John Furlong and Prof. Geoff Whitty .

Places are strictly limited so please do confirm your interest as soon as possible, by sending an email to events@bera.ac.uk and we will be in touch nearer the time to confirm attendance.
