Conferences represent one of the most valuable opportunities to disseminate research, giving ECRs the chance to present their work to a varied audience and to ask and answer questions.
The aim of this workshop was to de-mystify the process of abstract writing for conferences and to provide an interactive opportunity to begin the process of abstract writing. Orientated towards the end goal of writing an abstract for the BERA conference 2024, this workshop provided ECRs with the chance to interrogate the 4 criteria for a BERA conference abstract, draft possible responses to these in relation to their own research and share and debate these with the facilitator Dr Alison Jackson and ECR representative Rebekah Ackroyd as well as other attendees.
This workshop was intended to provide a supportive environment for ECRs to develop their abstract writing skills with the aim of increasing confidence and precision for abstract writing for conferences. It is hoped that following this session, attendees might refine their abstracts for submission to the BERA 2024 conference.
