I am head of the Sociology Section in Department of Education, Practice and Society, and co-direct the UCL Centre for Sociology of Education and Equity centre-for-sociology-of-education-and-equity (with Professor Louise Archer and Professor Carol Vincent). I lead the MA module Gender, Sexuality and Education, and contribute to the UCL Gender and Sexuality Studies.

I was co-chair of Gender and Education Association for five years; I am co-phounder of the PhEmaterialism (Feminist Posthuman and New Materialism Educational Research Network) (with Prof Jayne Osgood and Prof EJ Renold). I have sat on multiple editorial boards of journals including Feminist Media Studies, Women’s Studies International Forum, Feminist Theory, Gender and Education, Journal of Gender Studies, Feminism and Psychology.
