Dr Rebecca Loader is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work at Queen’s University Belfast, where her research focuses on education and peacebuilding, intercultural and anti-racist education, and educational inequalities. She has led (as Principal or Co-Investigator) externally-funded research projects on the educational experiences of minoritised ethnic groups in Northern Ireland, academic selection, and integrated and shared education. A policy-engaged researcher, Rebecca has worked with the NI Executive Office, Education Authority and local legislators on issues of race, ethnicity and education, and her research in this area was recognised in the recent Independent Review of Education. Rebecca has received awards for academic citizenship and research impact, and she was a member of the team that received the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher Education in 2020. She is also a trained dialogue facilitator and volunteers with an international organisation to support virtual exchange among university students across the globe.
