Carla is a Lecturer in Physical Education and Health in the College of Sport and Exercise Science, and research fellow in the Institute for Health and Sport at VU. Carla’s line of research focuses on topics of sport pedagogy and social justice, and it is underpinned by critical pedagogy (Paulo Freire) and feminist studies. As an Early Career Researcher and member of the Sport, Diversity and Social Change research group, Carla is working with diverse young people to co-create empowering possibilities through sport.
