Internationalisation Webinar Series

The internationalisation webinar series has been running since 2007 as part of an initiative organised by Dr Joanna Al-Youssef (University of Nottingham). It is an open event during which participants and speakers address a particular aspect related to the internationalisation of higher education.
 
The theme of this year’s webinar, taking place on Monday 2nd July 2018, is ‘Internationalisation, the curriculum, and academic support’This free event is supported by the British Educational Research Association’s (BERA) Special Interest Group ‘Comparative and International Education’ convened by Dr Nicola Savvides (University of Bath) and Dr Pinky Jain (University of Worcester). Dr Joanna Al-Youssef & Dr Nicola Savvides will be hosting the webinar.
 
The webinar this year will take the form of a panel discussion. The panel consists of:

Dr John Lowe, the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China
Dr Shyam Sharma, Stoney Brook University, New York, US
Dr Krishna Bista, Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland, US
Dr Stephanie Bridges, the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, UK
Dr Caroline Burns, Newcastle University, Newcastle, UK

 
The panel will discuss questions relating to the webinar theme, including:

  1. What is internationalisation of the curriculum? And how important is it?
  2. What does an internationalised curriculum look like? What are its main features?
  3. What models of an internationalised curriculum are in existence?
  4. (How) does internationalising the curriculum affect academic support?
  5. What are the possible challenges/obstacles to internationalising the curriculum? How can we tackle these?

 
The discussion will begin at 13:00 (BST) on Monday 2nd July 2018 and will use google plus as the platform.
